event date: 2026-03-28Authors wishing to present a contributed paper or poster, as well as those invited to deliver a talk in a plenary, specialized, or solicited session at the SIS part of the Joint Meeting SIS-FENStatS 2026 have deadlines until Feb 16, 2026 (contributed papers, posters), Mar 28, 2026 (plenary, specialized or solicited papers).

The SIS–FENStatS 2026 Scientific Program and Local Organizing Committees announce the opening of the short paper submission for the upcoming 2026 International Scientific Meeting of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS). This 53rd edition will be particularly special, as it will coincide with the 1st Scientific Meeting of the European Statistical Societies, promoted by the Federation of European National Statistical Societies (FENStatS).

The Joint Meeting SIS-FENStatS 2026 will take place in Rome, Jun 22–25, 2026, at the Department of Statistical Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome. The meeting will include plenary, specialized, solicited, and contributed sessions, bringing together scholars, researchers, professionals, and representatives from national and international institutions. It will provide a unique opportunity to discuss methodological advancements, innovative applications, and current challenges in statistical science.

Authors wishing to present a contributed paper or poster, as well as those invited to deliver a talk in a plenary, specialized, or solicited session, should submit a short paper (4–6 pages, in English) following the instructions described on the Call for Papers page, where submission guidelines, templates, and author notes are available.

The submission deadlines are:

  • Contributed papers and posters: Feb 16, 2026
  • Plenary, specialized, or solicited papers: Mar 28, 2026

All short papers will undergo a blind peer-review process. Once accepted, the talk will be included in the conference program. Short papers will be published in the pre-conference proceedings book by Springer Nature (with an ISBN), provided that all final source files (LaTeX/Word, PDF, and image files) are uploaded to the conference submission system by Apr 10, 2026. Authors who do not wish to publish their short paper should not upload any source files; in this case, their contribution will be included only in the program.

The best posters will be awarded during the conference.
